Request-A-Bit

October 22, 2000 -- Welcome to "the big experiment". Since the most popular section of this website is the MP3s & Bits section, I regularly get E-mails requesting specific bits. Problem is, most of my personal tapes are from the early 80's--a relatively small span of time in Grease's career, not to mention the time it takes to search through tapes for a specific bit, transfer it to the PC, and encode as an MP3 (I know--I've done it dozens of times already!). But... what if I were to post these E-mail requests on the website and see if any of you loyal GreaseFans with tape collections of your own might be able to fill these requests and send me the bits? Well, it's worth a shot!

If you have any of the requested bits below, please try to encode them as MP3 files at 96-128Kbps and E-mail them to me at steve@greaseman.org and I'll post them right here on this page, giving you proper credit of course! If you can't make MP3 files, I'll also accept high-quality RealAudio (.rm or .ra) or WindowsMedia (.asf or .wma) files, but please no .au or .wav or other "uncompressed" files. To make requests, E-mail me at the same address. Lets see if this works!

February, 2003 -- UPDATE --Well, unfortunately, I must call "the big experiment" a failure. In the past few years I have been unable to devote as much time to this website as I had originally intended due to a new job, home, and wife. Due to this, I was unable to post the many requests that I received here. I only got two submissions to the original 12 requests below anyways, so I don't think it would have worked out to any great benefit over time. So I'm going to ask you to please not send me any requests any more. I appreciate your interest, and I apologize for ignoring some of you. I still welcome any bits & mp3s anyone wants to send me anyways, so if you have something you want to contribute, please don't hesitate to e-mail me! Thank you.

December, 2007 -- UPDATE --Hey, check out the great find by John Foley below! I know I said this page was a failure, but when he sent me the song I had to post it!

Have you ever come across a copy of the music from the "Nino News Roundup"? 'Feel' by the Chameleon Project, FYI. All the possible albums containing it (according to www.cddb.com) are out of print -- according to everywhere I have tried. I think it would make a nice addition to the MP3 collections on the site.

Any idea where I can get Grease's clip about the 'moral', that was the one where his daddy was stuck in a foxhole and surrounded by Viet Kong.
Request filled on 3/6/01 by Brooks, who pointed out that this bit is part of his Mitch/Brooks CDs already in my MP3 section. Download here: Daddy in WW2

Who are the artists that perform and what is the real name of the song "Your momma, that's right I said your momma" - the tune that Grease talks over... I think Kurtis Blow and someone else, but I cannot find it. I know that it is a real song, though. Thanks for your help!

Your site kicks A Steve. I've searched high and low for a skit that Grease did with Arnold Schwartzeneger and the punk. It involved a motorcyle and T-2 sound bits. Anyway the most interesting and memorable piece of the skit is when punk asks Arnold why he got on the bike behind him. Arnold replied "MAN O MAN I LOVE FUDGE". Can u with your Greaseman locator skill find and post this skit on your site, or give me any idea about locating it myself?

I was looking for a specific download for a story about Grease torturing his boss with a cricket. Do you know where i might be able to find it? Thank you.

I remember a different "Grease on a desert Island with Jane Fonda" bit from the DC101 days. The one on your site ends with Jane being shot. In the one I remember Jane realized that Grease was the only man she would ever see and so, she wanted him. Grease unlimbered the hydraulics, shot into the sand, and said "dig for it, bitch!" Do you have this anyplace? It's a classic.

Do you know where I can find anymore Lawman tracks? (Short but schweeet request, April!)

Requested on 8/21/00 by John O'Donnell:
What was the bit I heard about the bathroom in the basement of the building across the street from the studio where he would broadcast his Washington DC show? He would talk about all of the toilet paper still having the starter tabs etc.

I've been trying to locate an old Greaseman "lawman" bit where the lawman is on trial for shooting a suspect and he sets up the jury by posing as a robber and one of the jurors makes a quick decision and tries to shoot him. Do you have any idea where I can find it or a specific name of the bit.

Hoping you can help me out. I've been looking for several high quality (44khz, 16bit, stereo) clips of Grease doing his famous Pffffft, Pffffft, Pffffft sound. I've gone through almost all of the clips and can't find what I'm looking for. Any help would be appreciated (the ruder the sound the better).

I'm trying to find the bit about the daughter bringing the boyfriend home to meet the family. Dad gets a peanut stuck in his ear, the boyfriend sticks his fingers up Dad's nose, he blows and it pops out...mom says he's such a nice boy and Dad says "judging by the smell on his fingers I think he's gonna be our son- in-law" (or something like that). I can't seem to remember the name of the bit and thought you may remember.

Requested on 10/19/00 by Greg Casterioto:
I am looking for a bit I heard him do once. I don't remember that much about it, but it included the line: "We need a little ingus" (a parody of the song, "We need a little Christmas") If you could help me at all with this, I would really appreciate it.
