April 8, 2012 -- 5 more bits! OK, that ain't the largest addition we've had, but any new quality bits are welcome. Thanks to Tom in Alaska for sending in his
tape of DC/101-era bits!
February 17, 2012 -- What a find! Long-time Grease fan Larry has sent in some vintage cable TV interviews
done with Grease while he was at WAPE in Jacksonville, while he was still hiding his identity! This is great stuff -- Enjoy. And thanks, Larry!
February 5, 2012 -- 700 more bits! My High School buddy Karl loaded his entire 35-cassette Grease collection into iTunes and sent it to me. You can now enjoy
Karl's tape collection of over 43 hours of classic bits from DC/101 from the guy who introduced me to this wacky morning DJ back in the early 80's.
Thanks a mil-mil-million, Karl!
Also new today, the 8th (and final?) edition of Joe Hollingsworth's Born Bulky comics, featuring Lawman & Big Dick Branigan, in the
Comics section!
January 29, 2012 -- 500 new bits! GreaseFans Doug Williamson & Todd Ossege have sent in some great new bits to add to The Bit Vault.
Doug's contribution is a collection of classic airchecks from WAPE in the late 70's, while
Todd's contribution is a massive collection of DC/101-era bits. Big thanks to Doug & Todd!
August 29, 2011 -- Philly's 94 WYSP is changing formats, and alumni like The Greaseman stopped by for some farewell stories & bits. Listen & download them
here while you can!
July 1, 2011 -- Lots of updates here recently. Here's a rundown...
- INGUS! At long last, the 5-CD collection of Ingus & The Greaseman songs are now available for you to download. Ingus founder
Tom Lange compiled this collection and is now releasing it to the massives, er, the masses. To begin the begin,
- I added two great new bit collections from the earliest DC/101 days sent in by Johnny Wollensak and L'il Eddy.
Johnny's collection alone is nearly 800 new bits!
- Two more station-produced CD compilations have been added to The Bit Vault, titled Sleeping In and My Daddy.
- You can now download (or re-download) upgraded versions of Grease's classic Best Of tapes from DC/101 and his
two albums from the WAPE days!
- I've posted two recent articles on Grease from Washingtonian and Montgomery Life magazines.
- The Video page is getting an overhaul. I'm converting to in-browser YouTube videos, and have added a few new clips as well.
