Grease sees "a thaw" in the media backlash

July 21, 1999 -- I spoke to Grease on the phone today, where he said he's beginning to see "a thaw" in the media backlash surrounding his firing in February. Recently he's seen some interest come his way regarding that next boss-jock job. Personally, I've thought that the D.C. area might never be ready to give him a third chance--maybe he should seek a gig in other cities that have a Grease following such as Atlanta, Jacksonville, or even up I-95 a bit in Philly or New York City--but he replied that "D.C. is my home", which I took to mean he intends to stay there unless another syndication offer-he-can't-refuse comes along. It may not be for a while yet, but it's good to know that there are interested parties considering bringing Grease back to the air, so we'll just have to wait and see what happens!

In other news of what Grease has been up to lately, he informed me that he recently returned from Suffolk, VA, home of The FBI Files, a documentary series airing on The Discovery Channel, where he guest-starred in an episode to run next season, probably in October. The episode he's in is titled The Dixie Mafia and he plays a sleazy lawyer. Now that sounds worth taping! When I hear the exact air date, I'll be sure to post it here.

Other than that, he's been reported dining out around D.C. with his funny-little-honey and friends, and hanging out on the Good Ship Grease basically enjoying this little hiatus, though he wants to get back to work of course. It's just a matter of time!
